Why This Guide Exists
Kansas does not place every arrest-related record in one database. The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office creates county booking records and operates the current inmate search, while its public photo-release policy is different from the restricted Mug View system used by authorized agencies. City police reports identify the arresting agency, the 18th Judicial District shows what happens in court, and the Kansas Department of Corrections publishes records for people who enter state custody. This site organizes those official paths and explains when a targeted Kansas Open Records Act request may be needed. No photographs or arrest records are hosted here.
